Three Premier League games today and not a chance that any one of them, or all three together, can come close to emulating yesterday's heroic achievement by the mighty, soon-to-be-Champions of the world West Ham. As someone said on another thread, there hasn't been so much discipline and commitment in defence since the days of Billy Bonds.
Anyway, on to today's games.
Spurs vs Palace (1.30pm)
Palace haven't won at White Hart Lane for nearly 20 years, but have as good a chance today as ever. An away win would take Palace to 12 points and equal second in the table. Spurs are languishing in 16th position, but will be boosted by a good Europa win in midweek. Prediction: Draw
Liverpool vs Norwich (4.00pm)
An intriguing one, this, with all the pressure on the home side. And manager. Norwich will go to Anfield believing they can get at least a point, which should make for an open, entertaining game. Prediction: Home win
Saints vs Man U (4.00pm)
The headlines will be on the two managers, who aren't the best of friends. Southampton haven't had the greatest start to the season, while Man U haven't had the same success away from home as at Old Trafford under van Gaal. Expected a tight, controlled game, with both teams looking to avoid mistakes. Prediction: Narrow away win
Now, back to yesterday's game involving the other Manchester club...

Lloris pulls off a world class save from Sako and then the Palace keeper drops a clanger.
Would have like Bacary Sako.

Anyone else think Koeman will eventually get pissed off with losing his best players and be tempted elsewhere at the end of this season? He never seems to stay at any club more than two,at most three years. He won't put up with mediocrity and today's performance wasn't too clever.

Not sure that Spurs aren't within our reach as genuine rivals, ironsofcanada, so a draw with Palace might have suited us better methinks.
Still, at least the scouse didn't win.

De Gea made two or three fantastic saves. Still think they are a team you can get at.

Two decent results considering who our rivals will probably be at the end of the season.

That was a proper dive by ward-prowse. Would have booked him.
Sums up how massively gay football is nowadays if those are ever considered penalties.

Of course he is offside as soon as he turns for the ball. Not a difficult decision as he was jogging out behind the defender, it wasn't a matter of players crossing at speed.
